Hay girl. I just came right on in to your web site and decided I would look around. I am also a twin-not identical. My sisters name is Rachel. We are 15-almost 16. We have also done the switching classes thing. And yes...it does get boring! Being a twin is pretty cool...but when Rachel starts wearing my clothes it can get a little out of hand! Nice Site...kepp the good work up!

Hi, Kathi! Your webpage caught my eye as I am related to William E."Will" Webster
(my greatgandfather on my mother's side). My great grandfather Will was one of the
original homesteaders of New Smyrna Bch., Fla.. He was a commercial fisherman from
Nova Scotia and homesteaded an island in the Indian River. All of my family on both
sides of my family are "Florida Crackers" (original Florida natives). Most of my family
still live in Florida. If you'd like, feel free to write me at my e-mail address.

Hi Kathi,
Many of your correspondents are twins, but I can't claim
that distinction for myself. However, my father's father,
Raymon (spelled correctly) was a twin to Ransom, for whom
I'm named. Twins haven't shown up in our line since.
I too, am a Webster, and so couldn't pass up an opportunity
to comment favorably on the great Internet work of another
Webster. Your website carries a wealth of information;
good stuff!

I am fascinated by your superb website, congratulations! I just recently became interested in mirror twins with different handiness. I am a neurologist and work on a project about the genetics of left-handedness. Mirror twins seem to be a possible way to study the subject.
I therefore appreciate to learn more from and about mirror twins. I would like to meet or get in touch with mirror twins who suffered a stroke (God forbid) affecting either one of their sides. All information will be handled personally and confidential. I would also like to learn about or from mirror twins with right left inverted organs (called situs inversus, sometimes referred as Kartagener syndrome). These people for example have their heart on the right (spot). Thanks and congrats again.

Hi! I really like your site. I'm a twin, too. I'm the older, left handed twin while my 8 minute younger sister is the righty. We're identical in looks and in sound. When we get together, we both make the exact same comments in the exact same tone of voice at the exact same time. Our friends always move us so we are "in stereo". I could go on & on but I don't want to take up room, just wanted to say 'Hey' to a fellow twin.

Enjoying the site. I teach an Anthropology course at the University of Washington, Comparative Study of Death, and I am always looking for new information and a place to send students. Sites like this are a valuable resource, especially to students who come into the class because of compelling personal reasons. I am not a therapist of people's grief but I think some in the course have discovered assistance through sites like this. Thanks.

Enjoyed your web page! I am also an identical "mirror image" twin born 3/26/53, 15 minutes
before my twin Norma. I am left-handed and she is right - I'm the bossy one and she is the
bossee. We have 7 grown boys between us and they could never tell us apart, so they just called us
"auntie mom". I am giving a speech in communication class on twins so I was gathering information
and am glad I did! If any twin would like to communicate their experiences, I would be glad to hear f
from them!

I am a student at the Univ. of Colorado in Colo. Springs and am desperately searching for parents of twins ages 5-14 to take part in my research. I cannot afford to use the twin registries at larger universities. I mail everything to anyone interested in participating. It involves filling out a 200-item behavior inventory on each twin (identical or fraternal) and mailing everything back to me in an envelope with postage provided. I sure would appreciate any help you can give me in identifying willing people anywhere in the world. It is for my honors research on the heritability of personality disorders. Thank you for any help you can give. Anyone interested can e-mail me at lthede@aol.com with their name, address, and phone number. I will then mail them the necessary materials. PLEASE HELP.

Kathi,
Forgot to mention it, but my sisters (2 fraternal) and brother are triplets. My mother had no idea when they were born that she was even having twin (30+ years ago with a GP). I was about 12 and fed, bathed, and loved my sisters and brother and we really bonded. If my mother had had only one child, I would have never had touched it. She freaked out with three.

Interesting homepage. I'm the lefthanded one of the mirror image set, been part of a study at Temple University for the last ten years or so as the other one and I are both Vietnam Era vets and I served in Southeast Asia. Haven't had anything to do with the right handed part of the set for several years as he is a chronic dirt bag and I decided to stop wasting my time on him. I do find it interesting how close most sets of twins seem to be. Too bad I drew a lemon!

It's nice to read that you and your sister were so close as young
children and have maintained that "twiness" over the years. My
husband and I have a 2.5yr old boy,1.5 yr old identical twins
boys and a 8 month old boy. I have lately read so much info on
separating twins whether it's in play or school etc.etc. Quite
frankly, I am well aware that there is a very special bond between
just the 2 of them, even though they have a brother only 11 months
older and a brother 12 months younger. The twins talk to one another,
are much more happy to see EACH OTHER when they've been split up,
and just in general seem to be much more aware of the other ones
presence without noticing anyone else in the room.
To force them to be individuals by taking such extreme
measures such as, dividing them up their first day of school and
splitting them up each chance you get on the weekend seems to
be detrimental in our case. They get upset when taken away from
their twin and seem to become a little bit more reserved around
others when they don't have the security of their twin. I want
to keep my boys together in school, sports, friends etc. They are
very fortunate to be able to experience a true bond that the rest
of us "singletons" will only come close to with our husband
and children (But I don't think it really even compares!!)
Thank you for sharing your special relationship with your sister
to us out here on the net. Good Luck to you both!!

We live several states apart and communicate through the computer. I am searching for more information on

Hi,
My sister and I are also mirror identical twins born 4 minutes apart on February 19, 1952. In high school we ended up going to different high schools. We also learned through the years that we had lost our identity behind being called "the twins" and strongly suggest to others that have twins to call them by their name instead of the twins. We have done some strange things as well such as picking out the same birthday card or the same birthday present. We even went to the eye doctor same day in cities 100 miles apart and found out we had to wear glasses and picked out the exact same frame and type of lenses. We had not even mentioned to one another that we were going. My left eye is weaker and her right eye is weaker as well as me being right handed and she is left handed.

Really enjoy your site it is the closest thing I've found to one stop shopping. If I can recommend a site to add to your index, please consider www.fpu.com/wholehealth/ . I have dealt with these folks for mailorder herbals and they are really good people who know alot about herbal medicine.

Kathy,
Found you Web Site in an article in AJN. It is the best, and I am giving the address to everyone I know. Our hospital is developing a Pallative Care program and your Death and Dying page was invaluable.
WILD, CRAZY, and more fun than "you know what"!
Keep up the great stuff!

I'm very impressed by your new web site set-up. I confess
that I used to assume the "WEBster" who set up the Death
and Grief Resources page was an organization, not a person! Congratulations, also, on the new domain name.
See also email I sent just now.

I'm new at the Web. As we most nurses I have a variety of interests- both professional and personal. For instance professionally I'm interested in geriatrics, needs of the developmentally disabled, multiple sclerosis, alternative healing techniques, etc. Personally I'm a Sunday School teacher, interested in many types of arts and crafts, knitting, medical mystery novels, and amateur interest in the computer.

I think your site is extremely well done. I would like to
establish a link from my site to yours. My site is primarily
for Vietnam vets, but also others searching for healing,
information about trauma, or PTSD. I also have a section on
mine and others' art. Come visit, and let me know what you
think.
Peace,
